| My Biography: |
Born April 25, 1977,
the third of six fiercely independent children
with an abundance of varying character traits and aptitudes.
I have lived through times of moderate affluence and times of
moderate poverty as the wealth of my parents seemed to go
up and down with the tide.
My childhood, when not spent sketching and reading was spent in and out of the neighbouring woods lighting fires, negotiating derelict buildings,
pill boxes, tree-houses and rope swings that surrounded
our house in Benfleet.
The absence of trust in built up areas like Southend prevents children from having the same adventurous life-style and that inspires my desire to continue my work somewhere else in a more rural,
natural setting where my two children can roam more freely.
Whilst developing as an artist I have worked on
tattoo & logo illustration, flier design (manual and graphic)
and backdrop design.
I have produced some interesting architectural impressions
which may become more apparent as I develop my
inclination towards surrealism and mixed styles.
Goya, Lucian Freud, Dali, Escher and Munch
are among just some of the artists for whom
I have an unwavering respect and take influence from.
' Obsession with the human condition,
perception of it and recognition of repetition and repercussion within it are demonstrated in the current collection.
The images bear witness to irrepressible emotions from the inside that can shape the landscapes of the future outside.'
‘Inside and Out’ is my first independent collection prepared for exhibition which has most recently been hung at
The Great Art Fair – Alexandra Palace.
My passions for Art, Music, Language and Philosophy are boundless.
An accomplished singer/songwriter, I have also written a wealth of poetry and a poem entitled ‘Licence Infinite’ (click here to view) has been published earlier this year in a book aptly entitled ‘The Art of Poetry’, a second poem, ‘Oil Painted’ has just been published in ‘Mystic Melodies’ (click here to view) and I am currently working on entire collection that I intend to make available in 2008.
'I see my poetical works as the cultivation of the ideas that first manifest themselves as experience:image and that music can fulfil the final, matured representation of such ideas.
Abstract landscapes and very personal portraiture feature heavily in my work and are merely, an introduction to, a journey,
the discovering of oneself and ones limitations, like the very earth, through layers of creative compatibility and modification.'
I play three musical instruments and am becoming more deeply involved in my continuing studies of the French language on my journey to peace, tranquillity, the attainment of knowledge and transference of my own unique philosophy through my compositions.
