| My Biography: |
One year on and Cheetah-UK has certainly made a significant difference to the young peoples lives it was set up to help. Back in 2006 when Len Denton first started Cheetah-UK, he had no idea of the Impact or the scale of things to come.
The first project undertaken by Len was St. Catherine's School in Murkuru (Suburbs of Nairobi) and the idea was to help out with a few pens and some educational books, this led to even more projects including Sinai Non Formal School, Katakala, Oloirwora, Narok Educational Centre and currently Mathare..
The goal behind the project was to supply some desperately needed writing materials and education resources, but what started as just a small idea of help soon grew into something far beyond Len's expectations. A couple of months after the start of Cheetah-UK the PENCIL project was launched, a small story was put into the local paper and within a short space of time there was a 40 ft container filled to the brim with stationary, books, school furniture, computers, toys and clothes, from every corner of the UK items just kept flooding in via Topps Tiles' stores and staff.
Cheetah-UK hyas taken on a lot more than just supplying pencils, some schools have had new facilities built and the project is now concentrating on building a new education centre, which will hopefully help educate even more students from the poorest areas of Kenya.
There are many ways in which you may get involved from donations to help cover the costs of shipping equipment to purchasing items and showing your support via our gifts, books and wildlife prints.
