Essex artist working mainly in watercolour and acrylics.
I studied graphic design and illustration and for many years sold my paintings and prints in Covent Garden Arts and Crafts market in London, where I met and sold to owners of galleries from around the world.
For 20 years I ran my own craft shop in my home village of Finchingfield in Essex and produced paintings of local views and undertook commissions of pets and houses.
I now work from home and enjoy painting various subjects, painting whatever inspires me.

I have lived in Interesting Times and bring my expieriences to my work, various small exhibitions in Holland, Belguim and England, lost focus then regained it and now am honing it. i write, i paint, i create. current projects: Shadows based on a request by the late Stephen Callender-King. Impressions - a view of one life from beginning to possible end. Short stories on the adventures of Arquin the Friendly Dragon. Poetry and lyrics, I set the words - you can do the music. as most Artists am broke.Ceramics, Acrylics, various crafts and the written word.
To settle in one place for a while - find the me i was, not the me i became in London. finish my book and start another. Breath new life into my work and let others find thought and pleasure in the results.

Colin was born of Austrian Scottish parentage in Scotland and worked in various forms of hyper realism related initally to Science in the University of Glasgow, University of London, University of Bordeaux and the Max Planck Institute in Goettingen where he worked alongside several Nobel Prize laureates including Bert Sakmann and Manfred Eigen on the site where the first nuclear bomb was developed in Germany by Otto Hahn. Colin has developed universal maxims which derive from his research into nature and the universe. These maxims are the basis of his work in what he has named super symmetric hyper realism. He takes much of his early influences in Art from Salvador Dali and Richard Dadd who was inprisoned in the New Bethlem Hospital in London where Colin worked in the Institute of Psychiatry. His art consists of many works including poetry scientific papers music and the graphic arts.
He derives great pleasure happiness and enjoyment from the production of artworks and has acculated a massive collection which surpasses in quantity that of Monet. He has only recently made any of these works public with listings in the Saatchi Online Gallery and Saleroom.

I am an artist with a passion for both contemporary and traditional abstract Islamic Art.
My paintings are in various mediums, each with their own depth of meaning. I paint Arabic & Islamic art using traditional calligraphy styles balanced with contemporary abstract design, with a vision to portray my faith in the manner that it was created. With peace, love and true belief being the essence of a tranquil life, I try to capture the heart of the onlooker and give them a constant reminder of the souls yearning to journey from darkness to light. An awakening to the path of peace and tranquility.
Many believe Islam to be a strict and barbaric religion, I hope my paintings can portray what peace I have found as a British born Muslim, through my faith.

I have been painting and drawing all my life, but would class myself as an amateur. I've been lucky enough to sell my paintings for a number of years and taken commissions, as well as winning awards at local venues and commendations in national competitions. I paint most subjects in oils, but paint mainly botanical work, which I favour above anything else. I have never attended art college, but did gain A Level Art in the 80's at a local college. i live in Essex and have done so for the last 46 years.
Planning Exhibitions for other artists and carrying on with my own paintings.

I have recently graduated from the University of East Anglia with a 2:1 in Art History but paint regularly in my spare time and am extremely interested in art from the local community. I would also love the opportunity to talk to other artists and involve myself in local art events.
To get a job involving art, be it in a museum, gallery, workshop, school... I would love to share my passion for art with others, especially children as I find it a great shame to see students in schools say that they cannot paint or draw. I believe that everybody has artistic ability and simply need the confidence to utilize their skills. |

I exhibited a collection of 80 portraits in London's Voodoo Lounge in Leicester Square in 1999 and have since exhibited 2000 Sound & Vision London 2002 The Harrington Club Kensington London 2003 Noble Rot Mayfair London 2009 Crofters in Witham 2009 65th Anniversary D-day 'Dead Man's Corner' Museum St Come Du Mont I have been asked to hold 1 day portrait exhibitions in Witham on the 2nd Tuesday of every Month. The first is on August 4th at Crofters brasserie Witham Essex. Work featured in 'Hello' Magazine 'The Sun Newspaper'
Currently working towards my next major exhibition 'Seeing is Believing' I am looking to set up a permanent base for artists in Witham and I am looking for funding for a art drop in centre for all artists to come and use and exhibit and for all art lovers to visit.

I am a 25 year aspiring artist who has been painting since she could hold a paint brush.
Throughout my childhood I was constantly painting, drawing and making things. I took Art and Design at GCSE and got an A. I then went onto study A Level Art and Design for which I only completed a year which gained me a AS Level at grade C. I didn't paint or draw much after that for a few years and then my now husband bought me an easel which kicked off my painting again however life got in the way when we bought a house and got married.
At the beginning of this year I reduced my hours at work to just 3 days a week so I can concentrate on my art and to make sure life never gets in the way again. I set up my website Lucy's Portraits and I have exhibited my paintings at open shows around Essex. When I can afford to I also rent a stall at Spitalfields Market in London to sell my work. I paint anything from fine art and portraits to Pop Art and surrealism and am self taught.
To continue painting and selling my art and to organise a charitable art exhibition.
My future ambitions are to have my own Studio/workshop funded through selling my artwork as I am confined to a space in my kitchen at present.
I also hope to one day hold my own private Exhibition. |

Well there's not much to say really. My name's Rachel, my Dad, Stan, runs the site. I draw various bits and bobs depending on my mood really, although I'm quite content to sit and draw in just pencil and leave it at that when I'm finished. When I want to draw I will spend hours on it if needs be. I'm currently building up my portfolio to be a tattoo artist, once I turn 18 I can get an apprenticeship. Most of the time I draw alot of cartoons, mostly a character called Pandora whom I have pictures of on the site.
