I started painting at the age of 2, when I won my first painting competition. I developed a hobby of animation drawing while in school which grew into a serious past time. My love for colours and landscape was noticed by everyone in various local exhibitions and competitions I took part in as a child. I specially like doing florals and still life and feel inspired by the works of early 16th century European artists.

I was approached by British Fine Art Gallery in 2000 for displaying my work on-line for them. I have been marketing my art work ever since and have met many different artists and celebrities from various fields of art and entertainment through my work.

I have personally promoted my work extensively in India and UK which has attracted tremendous response from everywhere. I have also been influenced by Russian artists of St. Petersburg, a place close to my heart for its immense beauty and talent.

My clients have been from Spain, UK, Italy, Russia and India. My artworks have also been successfully displayed in art exhibitions in UK with many more exhibitions still to come.

    Essex Angel

Born 1972, Essex, England. Andrea Farmer (Pannell) trained in Illustration and Graphic Design at the Havering College of Further & Higher Education (BTEC ND in Graphic Design and A’ Level Graphic Design) and the Kent Institute of Art and Design (HND Graphic Design & Illustration). She has worked as a professional artist and graphic designer for over 10 years.

Andrea’s paintings are unique and vibrant. Her work is held in collections worldwide with a variety of corporate and private commissions. Various paintings are currently on loan or long term / permanent exhibition with galleries, corporate, charity and healthcare establishments in England. Andrea will also be exhibiting extensively through to 2009 with the Rogue Gene Collective, Art4Essex, in group exhibitions and on a solo basis.

Andrea’s work is inspired by the ever changing environment plus nature’s colour, mood, texture and form. Dramatic skies, cloud formations, movement and light feature heavily in her landscape and sunset paintings. Living in Chelmsford, Essex, England the vast beautiful countryside and local views also influence her work - alongside her travels to warmer climates, especially the coasts and islands of the Mediterranean and Adriatic which feature in her tranquil seascape paintings.

Andrea’s still life and expressive abstract paintings are an expression from within the mind - an alternative and sometimes passionate, obscure and twisted view representing personal matters, feelings and emotion with regards to everyday objects in the natural world around us. She is currently working on a new collection of floral still life paintings that aim to capture her love of flora and nature.

During 2006, Andrea joined the Rogue Gene Collective - a small group of artists who are committed to helping each other attain a higher level of visibility for their work. This is done by pooling resources, information, knowledge and contacts. As well as being artists, all members act as agents, couriers and publicists for the other members at exhibitions and events around the country. The Rogue Gene Collective is part of a growing network of regional art collectives that includes Art4Essex, Art4Cheshire, The Art Collective Scotland and Original Art Exhibitions.

Andrea is also the founder member of Art4Essex dedicated to promoting professional Essex artists and their ’guests’ from surrounding areas. The collective’s aim is to exhibit their art in the public arena and to obtain higher visibility for all self-representing artists. All members are passionate about their work and committed to helping each other whilst promoting art in the local community.

During 2007, Andrea has been working with other Rogue Gene Collective artists on a series of collaborative paintings. One artist creates the background and the other completes the foreground with no discussion inbetween as to the style or subject matter of the finished artwork. This creates the opportunity to own an unusual and original artwork created together by two different artists.

Andrea Farmer Contemporary Art is a keen supporter of local art groups, community art and charity projects along with wildlife, nature and environmental causes. Andrea will loan artworks to charitable and healthcare organisations under a long term loan/exhibition agreement. She is a member of Activate and the Chelmsford Art Society.

    Carmen

I am a Romanian artist living in England since 1994.

Please visit my gallery online www.carmentyrrell.co.uk

My artistic education was achieved in an art school of an academic profile. I have built through years a solid foundation in atelier style training alongside well-known artists and I followed this by a lifetime of experimentation. In my works the subject matter is quite diverse but the main category is Figurative. I am permanently interested in developing and extending my techniques. I work in all media and I am looking to find new forms of expression. I work with a lot of enthusiasm and pretty quickly. My style of work is spontaneous, vigorous and loose, trying to maintain the freshness. Some of my works can be found in private collections in Romania, England, Scotland, U.S.A., Canada and Dubai.

Looking to find new inspiration and new techniques for may drawings and paintings. Starting soon a new range of works for a solo exhibition in autumn.

I am an artist whose imagination produces images with a sci-fi /fantasy leaning. I also draw portraits and sometimes 3D rendered images. My skills are focused mainly on pencil and ink, with a strong comic-book vibe. I love anything that is visually arresting or exciting, regardless of whatever genre it happens to fall into. I am a shy person by nature and am polite and admittedly rather reserved.
Well, I hope to sell some art at last, after hiding my light under my shyness bushell for so many years (a big regret of mine).

Gwyneth Rasquinha nee Dsilva (August 5th 1972) About me I hail from Mumbai in India. After completing, a bachelor of arts degree in Psychology and French and a 3 year diploma in Applied Art. I then went on work in the world of designing in the advertising industry. Designing for the more specialised direct marketing industry was a wonderful learning experience… the focus on design for a purpose. Design with the target audience in mind. Design for results. These are concepts that I utilise to date in my design efforts. My love for art I cannot remember a time when I wasn’t doing or thinking something that was related to my love for art . This passion took me to the Jehangir Art museum regularly. I was also fortunate to have been in Elphinstone College in the final year of my Bachelors degree. The proximity of the college – (bang opposite the Jehangir Art Gallery) gave me ample opportunity to visit each change of artist. Until today I find it hard to pass up and opportunity to visit an exhibition where ever I am. I took part in college art festivals representing my college at inter art festivals like Malhar and Mood Indigo…I have always loved to draw and paint. Working in an art based field seemed the most natural thing for me to do. What inpires me Nature in all its forms and colours. Water …the various shades of aqua, marine…shells. Flowers, scents like vanilla, lemon and orange . A beautifully written phrase or poem. Children inspire me… their smiling faces, their laughter, their innovative antics. Music …chants, folk and classical music, single instruments like the flute and piano…percussion. My beautiful gift, my daughter. Where I have displayed my work I was fortunate to have been a member of the DIAC Dubai International Art Society and have participated and displayed my work at the art bazaars they organised. I also participated in the art bazaar organised by MSF (medecin sans frontier) in Abu Dhabi (2002) My work was also a part of a group exhibition held at Raslaffan – Qatar. (2002) What keeps me anchored My sense of knowing that I am part of a bigger, much bigger plan. Prayer. My values. My husband. My family. My friends.

Painting as a process. Surviving the recession.

I was born in Derbyshire in 1961 and continue to live high up in Matlock Bath with glorious views over the surrounding countryside. After leaving school at 16 I served an apprenticeship as a plumber before joining my father in a picture framing business. It was during this time that my interest in painting was kindled and I taught myself to paint, initially in acrylics and watercolours but now mainly in oils. In 1991 I took over the framing business from my father and continue to run it to this day, although a lot more time is spent painting now. I have won several painting competitions including the Derbyshire Pro Loco Painting competition final which is a culmination of paintings done in various villages throughout Derbyshire which all have to be finished on the day and are then voted for by the public. After several exhibitions my work is in collections in the USA , Australia and Europe as well as the UK. I mainly paint landscapes of Derbyshire and other rural areas of the UK but of late has been experimenting with other subjects and painting styles.
My next project is to try glass fusing, i love the medium and have bought a blowlamp so watch this space.

Born 1965, Karen was brought up in the UK, before coming to Australia when she was 16. Her favourite subject at school was Art where she earned herself an A+ in O Level Art (remember O levels?). She planned to go to art college, however, this did not eventuate. She married, had two children and forgot about her love of art. Many years later ……fast forward to November 2007. While sourcing artists for her website, Mystical Daydreams, she decides to pick up a pencil again, after nearly 25 years! She is now a prolific artist since her dormant passion has been reawakened. She thanks the many fairy and fantasy artists, including Selina Fenech, Jessica Galbreth and Regan Kubecek who helped her rediscover her creative zeal

    Kerry

My name is Kerry and this site is run by my wonderful partner Stan.  He has helped open my eye's to the world of the Arts and I have accomplished some nice oil painting's since being with him.  I have also taken a keen interest in photography, especially flowers.

We do not have any kids together but we have two cats Misty and Scamps, who can be a handful sometimes.

I dont get much time to paint, so when I do it is a wonderful and relaxing experience, always messy though Smile.

In the future I would like to be able to leave my job to work with Stan.  This would enable me to have more time to experiment with different mediums and do more oil paintings which is what I love to do the most.

I live in, and have grown up in Southend. I love painting and drawing, and have always enjoyed anything 'arty' since school days... which seems ages ago! I always obtained high marks in art at school, so thought it a waste not to continue with it from there on. I use watercolour or acrylic paints, and also do pastel work as well sometimes, in various different themes. I have had some college course experience too in more recent years to ...help'brush up' on my work ...so to speak!More recently having attended a portrait course. I have exhibited in several exhibitions in the area and sold some of my work.Somehow I manage to squeeze it all in around husband, family and 2 grandchildren, and a part time job. Would love to hear from fellow artists in our area and to view their work too. Regards Lin.
To possibly better my work even more and to gradually travel the world..have seen quite a bit of it already! But as we love travelling hope to do even more god willing.
