About Art-SX 2006-2007
Well a few things have changed since I wrote about Art-SX back in 2005, but some things are still the same. Art-SX is still an online club of sorts that supports artists and creative people, the reason we are mainly online is todays life is a busy one and not everyone can commit themselves to regular meetings of normal clubs, whereas if the club is online you can pop in whenever you choose or have some spare time.
Things that have changed, we'll the site for one has been redesigned and we have a new gallery, a result from this change is the number of visitors we now receive, which is on average 500 unique visitors per day and we have been visited by a total of over 150,000 visitors since the end of 2005. We now have over 70 members including groups and have supplied art work and websites to 4 charitable organisations that operate locally.
We have just started our first charity art classes and will be hoping to work alongside a group called Metal that will be opening an arts centre in Chalkwell park later this year, so things are slowly moving. Our goal now is to set up our community arts studio once a dream it now feels very real and we already have some support, I'll keep you all posted.
One other change is that we no longer charge membership to Southend artists as long as your artwork is acceptable for all viewing ages. Please read the old statement below for more information as to who we are...
About Art-SX 2005-2006
 Art-SX started as a hobby for Stan Denton to see if he could sell his artwork on the internet. He succeeded and soon was approached by other amateur artists who wanted to do the same, so he started Art-SX. It's aim, to utilise what Stan had learnt, to help others find new areas of income from their talents.
We haven't been going long, but already the project has taken on a life of it's own. It's no longer about just selling art, it's about people helping each other get the most out of life and the things we enjoy doing - like creating. And although a very young website, it's wealth of experience that comes from it's members has really got Art-SX noticed as a fresh, new approach to exploring art as a hobby or business.
So how does Art-SX work? Simple you create, you join, we promote, you sell, you earn, It's that easy! The hard part of course is getting noticed that's where you come in just by telling your friends and people you know as members grow so do viewers and hopefully so will the site and Art-SX as a community group.
 Once you join Art-SX the fun starts, your work is placed in your own gallery with some shown on the main site. Choose an image or design you have created and we will build you a shop with your image on a range of merchandise. Then we promote your shop all over the world, you may either sit back and wait for your 20% commission to come in off every sale or get building more shops for your artwork. Perhaps you'd prefer to build a premium shop where you may place all your art in one shop window, the choice is yours.
All members benefit from one network. Ever heard the saying 'United we stand,  divided we fall' well it's true, Art-SX gets better as it grows. I won't go into the technical side but will state the obvious, the more people who find out about Art-SX the more your artwork gets seen, simple really isn't it! But also ever had a need for something and a friend has turned to you and said "I know someone who might help" It's called sharing knowledge and that's also what we want for the Art-SX community.
Now, we have set up Art-SX to run for a minimum of 10 years, if successful we'll go another 10 and so on. We offer a yearly membership purely for those who just want to try us out and after five years you automatically become a life member.
What we'd like to achieve
 We'd like to see this site uniting artists of all abilities in the local Essex area and beyond, to share experience and knowledge with each other, to band together and help each other with projects or charity events. To create a network of websites exchanging links and information and helping each other branch out into the world. Maybe even one day opening a community studio/gallery where people may come and create together, where money isn't the currency, but the sharing of experience is. A dream, possibly, but if you don't chase the dream It'll never come true.

Art-SX is a platform for you to show your work, advertise your skills and share experience. We also promote your work and seek out unique opportunities for all artists to earn a little more from their talent. We offer artists opportunities to help in community or charity projects, and try to find you good deals on supplies and equipment. We also offer services like large format printing upto A1 size. We can also send someone to come and take digital images of your artwork for you, even help and support creating your own subdomain website, right here on Art-SX.
Businesses, we offer a platform for you to promote your products and services to a targeted audience 365 days a year for a fraction of the cost of other advertising and you get actively promoted by us at events and shows. We are also able to offer your business, no matter how big or small, your own webspace within the Art-SX domain.
Whatever your needs we will find an option to suit, or we will tailor one to suit!
