This poem was written about a year or so ago, it follows on from Who would Understand? and Can I forget? my life is pretty much in my poetry, my art work and the stories I have written, I find it is such a good way of letting go instead of keeping it all inside where it can do more harm than good. I forgive you now I am older now I still don’t understand But I forgive you I couldn’t go on hating you For what you did So I forgive you I can’t forget what you did But it’s dealt with now And I forgive you I wonder if you know What you did was wrong But I can still forgive you I hope I was the only one So that no one else Has to forgive you I am ok now And I can be happy So I forgive you I don’t hate me anymore I don’t hate you anymore I can forgive you Can you forgive yourself? Do the memories haunt you? Did you expect me to forgive you? You nearly destroyed me When my family found out You nearly destroyed them I am lucky because I have a wonderful family Full of love, compassion and understanding You could never destroy that Can you forgive yourself? Can you forget what you did? I had to forgive you I have moved on At last I am almost whole At last I can forgive you © Glenda PK
