Marbles Print E-mail
Saturday, 08 April 2006

Its funny what's important to you when your a child I was given some marbles they were white with rivulets of colour running through them at school everyone else had plain glass ones so my marbles were magical to me and for about four years went with me everywhere sort of like a comforter.  I only recently thought about my marbles where did they go did I miss them at all, I can't remember the last time I had them can you?

MARBLES

I think I'm losing my marbles, it really isn't fair,

I'm sure I put them safe before I hid under the stair.

I think I'm losing my marbles, I was playing out in the rain,

It wasn't his belt that hurt, his words caused the pain.

I think I'm losing my marbles, they may be under the bed,

so full of rage and shouting again was it something that I said?

I think I'm losing my marbles, I must have left them at home,

I really can't go back there so I'm fourteen and all alone.

I think I'm losing my marbles, or am I losing my mind,

things keep happening, perhaps it's wrong to want to be kind.

I think I'm losing my marbles, that's exactly what they'll say,

I try to tell them what’s wrong, but they just locked me away.

I think I'm losing my marbles, released to find my own way,

I'm heading for the nearest shop, just the Stanley knife today.

I finally lost my marbles, this bath is nice and warm,

think it's time to sleep now, no more feelings of harm.

I awoke to find my marbles, they were here all along,

so I turned them into a picture to remind me to stay strong...
