4th November 2007 Lin's Review
.
.
Bullying, whether of young people at school, adults in the workplace or within family relationships destroys lives. Bullying strips a person of their self-esteem, self-confidence & the ability to trust & often to such an extent that they contemplate suicide. It takes many months or years to start recovering from such an experience.
.
My friend, nicknamed Catface, has suffered most dreadfully at the hands of bullies. His musical teaching career at a prominent University wiped out. Despite ill health, caused through the treatment he has suffered, + whilst taking his case to an Employment Tribunal, wanted to hold an event of art & music that would help to expose the damage caused through bullying.

.
The aim of the event of the 4th of November, arranged by Catface, was to highlight bullying & its effects on an individual through music, poetry, art, videos etc. This was held in conjuction with a youth anti-bullying group.
.
The event was held at the Ram Jam Club on the afternoon of Sunday 4th November. The Club is located in Kingston-Upon-Thames & take it from me this place has the most incredible atmosphere.
.
Blues, Jazz, Opera, Folk ..these many forms of music were performed by very accomplished artists. I am profoundly deaf so I cannot hear the vocals or lyrics, but could see the quality of the musical performances.
.
Personally, the highlight of the afternoon was for me was the showing of several collections of art-works & videos that had been inspired due to experiences of bullying.
.
My own collection of art-work entitled 'Flying into Life' is an expression of my feelings during times of bullying abuse both at home & in the workplace.
.
Stan, Art-SX, had already given me a life-line of encouragement in days gone by when he  had put my art-work of 'Flying into Life'  together in small booklet & published this at Art-SX. This was something that I had always hoped could become a reality but had never believed it could become so. This publication gave my dark experiences at the hand of bullying destroyers an outlet into light.
.
I approached Stan about showing my art-work at the Ram Jam Club & he created a dvd of moving images of my art-work & poetry. As a result my art-work/ Stan's electonic wizardry was displayed at the event 4/11. This was a very special moment for me.
.
All of the muscial & art contributions were received with great warmth & enthusiasm ..it was a great experience to attend such an wonderful & meaningful event.
.
Thank you Stan , its by people such as you who care enough to inspire others that lives can start 'flying into life' ..love always Linx
