Two of England's leading women musicians and the European Chamber Orchestra are performing at Essex venues this month.
On Sunday, February 10, at 7.30pm at Southend's Cliffs Pavilion, the highly popular violinist Tasmin Little is appearing with the European Chamber Orchestra conducted by Eva Stegeman.Having performed Mozart's Violin Concerto No 4 in D in the first half, Little will be joined by viola player Aida-Carmen Soanes for a performance of Mozart's Sinfonia Concertante for Violin and Viola to conclude the concert.
Britten's Simple Symphony and Arvo Part's Cantus in Memoriam Benjamin Britten complete the evening's music.

Then on Sunday February 16 at 7.30pm in Chelmsford's Civic Theatre the European Union Chamber Orchestra, again conducted by Eva Stegeman, will be joined by former BBC Young Musician and clarinettist Emma Johnson. She is now well established as an acclaimed mature musician, a soloist in her own right and a great audience-pleaser.
At this M &G Civic Concert the orchestra will be performing a delightful programme of Haydn's Symphony No 44, Mozart's Clarinet Concerto with Johnson as soloist, plus a Mozart Adagio and his Symphony No 29.
There is an informal introduction to the concert at 6.30pm free to ticket holders. These explanatory conversations are much enjoyed by both newcomers to classical music and people familiar with the genre.
