A NEW website, which aims to be the first comprehensive directory of activities available for children and young people across Essex, has been launched by the county council.
The Essex Young Life site - www.essexyounglife.co.uk - has been available in a limited format over the summer holidays, but is now ready to be unleashed in its full glory.
Cllr Tracey Chapman, cabinet member with responsibility for making Essex the safest county in England within five years, said: "The site has already proved popular and the beauty of it is that it will only get better and better as more people hear about it and start logging on."

The site allows youth groups and clubs to upload details of forthcoming or recurring events. The contents are monitored by council officers.
Cllr Chapman said: "There really is something for everyone, from football to skateboarding and knitting to clog dancing. Essex is such a vibrant county and now we have a fabulous one stop shop for young people to find out about all the activities available near them."
The site is the result of 4 months of hard work by the council's schools, children and families directorate and currently contains listings for 3,235 events and activities.
It also includes links to sites offering everything from counselling to tuition services as well as sites providing details of events being run across the Essex borders.
Michael O'Brien, service development manager at the council who has overseen the site's development, said: "We really felt it was important to establish a directory that includes details of all manner of services that young people might find informative, helpful and fun. I hope as many people as possible visit the site, both to get details of existing events and to add further information."
